SMART Targets Goal of $35,000 for Special Olympics MARYLAND

BALTIMORE, MD, June 20, 2007 - "Inspire Greatness". That is the motto of Special Olympics.  Last year, Barry Bondroff, Baltimore Office Managing Director for SMART Business Advisory and Consulting, presented Special Olympics MD with a check for $30,000.  This year, the goal is to raise more than $35,000 to help SOMD provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for citizens with intellectual disabilities.

For the third consecutive year, SMART is the Title Sponsor of the annual Golf Classic benefiting SOMD.  The event will be held on Monday, August 27th at Chestnut Ridge Golf Club in Lutherville, MD. 

“As a newly elected SOMD Board Member, it is a great privilege to be able to support a worthy cause that overcomes all boundaries,” says Bondroff. 

The annual Golf Classic is just one more way SMART seeks to help athletes with intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics events such as sports training and athletic competition. Athletes compete from all counties across the State of Maryland.  The spirit of Special Olympics - skill, courage, sharing, and joy - incorporates universal values that transcend all boundaries of geography, nationality, political philosophy, gender, age, race, or religion.
