PUBLIC HOUSING EXPERT JOINS SMART BUSINESS ADVISORY AND CONSULTING

New York, NY, April 8, 2008…SMART Business Advisory and Consulting, LLC, an independent leading global provider of financial advisory and business consulting services, today announced the expansion of its New York City office with the addition of Eva G. Medina, Manager, Public Sector Services.

Medina has more than eight years of experience working with Public Housing Authorities. Prior to joining SMART, Medina held the position of Deputy Budget Director with the New York City Housing Authority, where she managed a $3 billion operating revenue budget and a $2 billion capital budget.  She also served a critical role in developing mechanisms which promoted financial and operational accountability and transparency for the Authority.

Medina’s experience lies in public sector budgeting, securing government funding and assessing policy changes impacting financial management. In particular, she has a strong background in helping develop solutions to the challenges faced by the public housing industry resulting from sweeping market-based and accountability reforms.  Medina is regarded as an expert in public housing finance and policy.

A graduate of Cornell University, Medina also holds a Masters degree from Columbia University.
