SMART BUSINESS ADVISORY AND CONSULTING ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF ITS
LIFE ACTUARIAL PRACTICE
Devon, PA, March 21, 2008…SMART Business Advisory and Consulting, LLC, an independent leading global provider of financial advisory and business consulting services, today announced the expansion of its life actuarial services practice with the addition of three industry leading actuaries - Christian DesRochers, FSA, Michael LeBoeuf, FSA and Brian King, FSA. They will be based out of SMART’s Hartford office. DesRochers and King are among the co-authors of “Life Insurance and Modified Endowments”, the Society of Actuaries’ textbook on policyholder tax issues. Prior to joining SMART, DesRochers, LeBoeuf and King were with AON Consulting.

Principles based reserving, US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards, federal income tax reserves and product tax compliance, enterprise risk management and economic capital, are many of the challenges facing the insurance industry which require actuarial involvement,” said Ed Robbins, FSA, leader of SMART’s life actuarial services practice.
